Herd of horses with ulcers/ blisters in mouth

Hi,

was wondering if anyone had any experience with all but a few horses in a large herd, developing symptoms of ulcers and blisters in their mouth with bleeding gums?

I recall several horses at a yard with blistered noses caused by buttercups. St Johns wort can also cause blistering. I would be looking at the plant growth in the paddocks/ hedgerows.
