I am 5' 8" and Karen (who I bought her with) is 5' 7" gorgeous_george so YO thinks I'm too tall, neither of us are that weighty either so I don't know what the problem is. I don't care anyway, I spoke to a friend of mine who does alot of dressage and she said it could be more useful to have longer legs as they will wrap around her better giving her clearer leg signals. And it is not so far to fall! Methinks the YO is a bit jelly!!!
She is pretty green but such a fantastic little mare and so sweet!
I do love a chestnut. I think people are obsessed by hown big their horses are , then I would say that as I am a ponio rider (14.1). Just imagine getting wet rugs off a 17 hh in the freezing cold - no thanks. Good luck to you both.
She is a very pretty girl.
Good luck with her, I woudn't take any notice to the fact the YO says you are too tall for her, better to be too tall than too heavy imo, you can always shorten your stirrups
She is lovely and as for your yo being petty about your horse's height I would tell her to politely mind her own business. Our cob is only 14.3 ( just an inch off 15 hands) my daughter for whom he was bought for is 3 months from becoming 13 and is nearly 5ft 7 I would guess now as she has grown more I'm sure of it and last time we measured her she was 5ft 6.
I have no worries at all about Mcfly's size and my daughter's height and in the future ( after I have lost some weight lol) I'm planning on riding him myself and I am 5ft8
So don't have any concerns about your horse's height Minkymoo as she looks great to me
'Thank you, it is a bit mean IMO as it really takes the shine off of getting her.'
Aww don't let people get to you, you are worth more than that and so is your horse
'God people can be so bloody po faced! '
I'd whole heartedly agree there with you. Best advice just ignore them. She is your horse and not their's. You do what you want with her and she does look sweet so I'm sure you will have plenty of fun
My RI was almost hte same she said she doesn't like trotters, and when i said i had a trotterx she wasn't keen, BUT she has changed her mind since...and actually quite likes him!!! you never know your Yo might change her mind!!
She looks happy and relaxed. Congratulations. You are definitely not too tall - she is 15.1 not 14.1, and I rode a 14.1 cob for some time (I'm 5ft 7 and 12stone) and I didn't feel too big. Have fun with her.
