Anyone want to work for this lot ?

Maybe you could help them reach the ideals they so strongly believe they already do - or illuminate them to their failings.

I couldn't remain professional whilst lying through my teeth about stock availability...

apmsl...tis all i am saying

They clearly aren't any good at maths as 5 x 12-hr days + 1 x 9-hr day doesn't add up to a 37.5-hr working week! More like 69 and that's outside the European Working Times Directive. My guess is they've forgotten to put a finishing time in and maybe their computer programme defaults to 12 hours after the start time. Either way, it doesn't exactly give potential employees or customers a feeling of state of the art professionalism!

Oh for god's sake, Brighteyes et al, it's clear from their ad that working 37.5 hrs is WITHIN those times.

UK is in dire financial position.

Don't i know it. I would love to work for them, i got all knowledge to help, + they actually sound like best employers i've had for years, but i'm 1.5 hrs away (provided M6 free), + i drive an old 4WD, so that wouldn't meet with your approval, either, no doubt? (Regardless of current questions about 'global warming')

Get real. I think you'd better be careful about slagging a company off, Brighteyes. I rather think that we need to change our attitude to work. Like we either work + build up industry again, or .... well, it's up to you.

Slagging off an old well-established company on a public forum is nothing short of deplorable, + i actually think your comments are subject to legal things.

That's up to them to proceed if they wish.

Give them a little credit (although def NOT for customer service) it does actually say 37.5 hours between these hours.......

To be fair the sentences regarding the working hours are poorly structured so the meaning is ambiguous. Of course anyone can decipher them, but that's not really the point of good communication...might also explain some of the problems they have been having as a company.

I'm assuming you meant this lightheartedly and it did make me chuckle. I actually know a few people who'd read that and take it they were meant to work for 60+ hours. Course they're a dozy bunch my mates

I like DH a lot - I think you should apply.

My guess would be you haven't read it properly. It says 37.5 hours within those times and even points out flexibility within those times -- so not expecting you there for the whole.

Since I (and a few others on here) have been on the receiving end of their 'customer service' I feel reasonably qualified to say a little on the matter. And I was 'tongue-in-cheek' about the wording of the hours.

I have nothing but praise for the shop staff at my local outlet, at which the presentation, service and the products are excellent, but the 'delivery and availability' of the Mail Order side of the company (based at Lathom) is not something I would like to try again.

I use mail order a lot and Rideaway, Horse and Rider and even Robinsons knock them into a cocked hat in my opinion.

Button press if you wish Brandysnap - or move nearer so you can work there and we can all order with confidence

Hi Minxie! Says it all !
(I'm rarely other than light-hearted!)
I would seriously like to work for this company, but only distance prevents me.
And forgive me for being a little intolerant of a public slagging on Internet of a company who've never given me less than 100% excellent service.
Best wishes to all, + to all opinions, BS x
