Herpes respiratory form confirmed

A yard about 20 min away has had confirmed cases of equine herpes virus the respiratory form confiemed , very worrying for all involved last week vets were advising not to vaccinate now but wanderinf if this will change ???

Our instructor gave us a talk at the end of the lesson on Sunday. He isn't overly worried at this point, but wanted to make sure that we know that any grooming equipment we use there must be fully cleaned if it's used at a different yard. Better still, to use the other yard's kit at that other yard.

There are no confirmed cases linked with the EHV-1 outbreak in Europe here (yet?)

Warrington area , confirmed respiratory form , yard is now in lockdown but everyone obviously on different yards wandering if we should vaccinate againest the respiratory form especially competition horses
