Took my yearling to hcc today in sports horse class. Bit disappointing end to a good day.
She was really good and in the minority of well behaved in the class.
A was disappointed to be placed 9th (one tried to kick the judge)
More annoyed overall that there was no photos as the "official" photographer only is a one man band and can't everything WTF???!!

However there seemed to be a gentleman taking pics outside the arena on a pro camera, so if anyone knows who this was can you let me know??

First show of the year as a yearling and no pics at all!! Very grumpy end to a rather well behaved super day!

You didn't miss out if the last few years pics are anything to go by. I usually have telegraph poles or electricity pylons sticking out my head and the big rules of photography is background ! I bought one the first year as very excited to be at a county show (sad but true:) ) the last 3 years I haven't bothered.

We've just got back, from an enjoyable day there. :)

If anyone's going tomorrow , one word of advice, don't bother buying coffee from the 'columbian coffee' stall near the sj ring - £2.40 for a cup of cheap vending machine coffee which tastes awful.

I was disappointed in the low turnout in some of the showing. Why would this be? Only 1 entry in the Middleweight Working Hunter, and just 2 in the heavyweight.

Reading the H & H recently seem to be few hunters around and once people have qualified for RIHS they often don't go out again that much. Some horses seem to do almost every show but some will do one qualify and then not do much else and are saved for HOYS qualifiers. A lot of county shows on at present as well.

I think choice of judges had a bit to do with - I know a few that were entered but didn't go.

We should have been doing the one at Midland Counties but didn't go (along with not going to Windsor, not going to Shropshire, bit of theme.....)
