So my share boy is an ex racer and a bit skitty at times. We've been working on chilling him out and I've been doing done equine touch with him (just done my level 1) which has really helped. He's now much more chilled in his stable not biting the last couple if weeks at all and much less scared of the outdoor school and all the possible tb eating monsters out there.

Actually we've gone too far the other way. He's never been greatly on the aids but has been getting better, well this evening I just couldn't get him to go forwards. Barely at all. Canter was a no go and a forward trot was blooming hard work. I felt like I needed to boot him pony club style which I avoided doing. Did lots if transitions and attempted on and back but could barely get the 'on' tbh. Put some poles out and a jump up to see if that helped which it did a little.

Finished on a better note after the jumping and he stood there yawning away.

I think he was bored. Of we'd got him out of bed lol!!

Pointless post I suppose. I'm pleased he's chilled right out but any ideas to gee him up again, in the right way, would be useful.

The weather has really changed today. this hot weather seems to tire them out. Try again when it is cooler and see if he perks up again. My normally forward spooky mare turns into a donkey in this weather

Wish it had the same effect on my boy! There was washing out today...
