Hovis arrived at the weekend!!
He's a 15.3HH Cylesdale X, 4 years old. He's down as a roan but the best description of him is he is the colour of a wild mouse (really greyish brown). He has a white blaze, white knee socks on his front, white stockings on his hind and the most gorgeous eyes you have ever seen.
He didn't come with tack and the saddler isn't coming til wednesday so i can't ride him yet but took him out in hand yesterday.
Question - i want to do some join up with him but he did only arrive saturday night. Is that a bit too soon?

Hovis, thats a great name!

Chuck him in the field and let him get to know his mates. They'll be plenty of time to play with him once he's settled in.

Piccys????

He's in the quaratine (sp?) field for the week but is hanging out with his new friends over the fence.
Sidney however is refusing to speak to me at all.
Can't figure out how to upload piccies but will carry on trying tonight.

love the name and love sidneys name to lol it is sooo cool! Id leave him to settle for a week new surrounding and all! My gg was happy once he had got to know his mates in the field. Have fun with him what are your plans?

Plans? Mainly to not fall off!
Mainly lots of hacking and some schooling.
One day I'd like to do some jumping with him but he and I have to learn first.
I'm terrified taking something this young on but he is SO chilled out. First night in his new stables (big american barn) with the shoot going on in the morning and he didn't bat an eyelid (unlike sid who is a typical over excited Warm blood!).
i've also got some fab people to help me and some good instructor help.
