He's so bloody thick, he probably doesn't know his foot hurts!

LMAO! I tend to worry more when they're like that though, my gelding's the same - won't tell me he's sore until his leg is hanging off - so I've got more paranoid over the years :biggrin3:

Said by my Farrier on finding a whopping abscess under my completely sound gelding's sole on his OF.

Should I be worried, insulted or pleased?

All 3 really, he saved you having a panic thinking he had broken his leg something that a less stoic creature tends to do, it probably had not quite got to the stage where it really hurt and a well timed farrier visit has saved lots of stress for all involved.

I'm sort of picturing Prince muttering about "flesh wounds", in a suitably tough voice! Vibes to him, he is clearly very brave :)

My trimmer made a similar comment, after dealing with drama queen TB's post abscess hoof, your pony would probably abscess and carry on and you would be none the wiser (this is the pony who always blunts the rasp) Not thick just brave and strong I think

He always used to be a wimp. Maybe he's trying to be tough now he's all grown up (he is 3 now after all ;))? I must never, ever, ever let him watch Monty Python. LOL.

My mare was fully sound with an abscess a couple of years ago. My super sensitive gelding on the other hand thinks he is dying and his leg has fallen off (yes he is a primadonna!! He was having a paddy as he got wet today)
