Dexter is turning pink- well on his nose

He is a dark bay/ brown cob with a tan nose; photo taken in March, as you can see, he has black skin:

I have had him 3 years. He is 10 years old and had Laminitis before i got him, other than that he is in good health with correct weight. He lives out- no buttercups/thistles/nettles in the grass. There has been no spraying or fertilising. The pink started in the corner of his mouth along with a few white hairs. I thought his bit was a little snug so changed it for one 1/2" wider. Over the last few days the pink has spread

I have put sun cream on as a precaution but the whole of the off side has changed colour. Vet is due on Monday anyway, just wondered if anyone had come across this

He could have a condition called vitiligo where the skin stops making melanin in patches.

My friend's horse has one pink rimmed eye and one black due to this. Both eye lids started of as black.

My pony has vitiligo and I would bw grateful if any of you would contact/pm me if you have good evidence of the condition being inherited
