This sad story appeared on the site of the rescue I got my dogs from so I thought perhaps someone in Cheshire might be able to help?

Copied from Many Tears Rescue)

5-10-06 SPECIAL APPEAL- Where is our Hesta,?????Hesta the little rough coat parsons jack russel was adopted to a lady at Main rd Nr Bunbury, Nantwich,Cheshire, on 27.05.06 I remember her so well as she came well after closing hours, but because I loved hesta and so wanted a home for her I stayed open. Her home was hard for us to home check as at the time we had no home vetters in her area, but never the less we did., and all appeared well.
After a few weeks she called to say she was not happy with Hesta We discussed her problems and I advised her, then she wanted to keep her.
Three weeks ago she called to say she no longer wanted Hesta as she was still having problems, but also she had a new boyfriend move in with kids and was not happy to have Hesta there with them. We said of course we would take her back and asked her to bring her back to us- she said owing to a party and riding commitments we would need to pick her up. I pointed out she had signed an adoption agreement to say if she needed to give her up she would bring back to us. This did not seem to matter to her. I heard nothing so called and never could get through, eventually our home vet co-ordinate got hold; of her and told her we would appeal for a transporter on the web site , she seemed ok with this. lots offered and we started to call, again no answer so we decided to ask someone to go around to the home. They did, only to find a sodden dog basket and blanket thrown out in the rain. The women came to the door and said she got rid of the dog, she would not say where.

Hestas micro chip number is 956000000430806, if she was given to you, and you are happy, please let us know, we will not reclaim her , we just want to know she is ok and where, also we want to be sure anyone who had her knew we offer a back up support and will always take her back if they could not keep her for any reason.
Of course I worry about the worse thing for Hesta, If you know a local vets to that address or can ask a local vet if they have been asked to put to sleep a little parsons jack russel bitch rough coated recently , about 3 years old please do.
I just so need to know!!!!!

No sightings of Merlin since Thursday when he appeared to be heading out of the area again and one hoax call today from a man who left a message saying he thought he had my dog but when I rang back the person at that address had no idea what I was talking about. There are some really warped people out there. Thanks for checking up on Hesta, just goes to show that even home vetting can't weed out the bad dog owners.

How sad! I can't believe that someone would just 'get rid' of a dog when giving her back is a perfectly acceptable option

I really hope you find her!

Hesta has been found!!! The woman who gave her away finally cracked (why she wouldn't tell straight away lord only knows) and gave Many Tears the address of the new owner and a home checker went round to see Hesta and her new family. She's well settled and has a new doggie friend too so a happy ending for Hesta and all the people who've been trying to trace her. Thanks to Maesfenhorse and Welshiesrock for your help.
