OOOO WOW what a TOTAL GIGGLE

Had text out of blue last week from friend asking whether i would be up for doing the Heythrop TC, my rely. YES but What class??. Luckly turned out to be novice class. As i've heard rumours about these team chasing lot are totally bonkers and do lose their measuring stick when they build their courses

So once I had agreed, thought whoops better make sure Bert is fit enough, so spent rest of week doing gallop work in fields (thank god it's been so dry as farmer was fine with us whizzing around)

.
After a long drive there, with Bert every half an hour saying ARE WE THERE YET!!! i wish he'd grow up but he's 14 and isn't going to change now

. Being the keen bunny i arrived first and then rest of team turn up in convoy, all said our hellos and then prompty went off to walk course and discuss and plan route. Course was defo up to height (3ft) and fence 2 was the only one i thought OOOOOOOO, up a steep hill to wide hedge with horrible take off and not so good landing. But all rest were fine for my head

I was too start as rider 4 and then i could move up to rider 3, i was just hoping my brakes were working correctly as hunting we start off with no but by end of season we were sorted

We had a team prastice over warm up fence and it seemed to work so off we when to start. Counted down and OFF we went..................... at first jump our 3 rider sat there and just looked at jump with us tearing up her backside so SCREAM KICK HIM!!! over she popped but my poor boy by this time was on top of fence

, but been honest lad he jumped it.

So onto No 2, not having repeat of fence no1 so i sat and held my boy as i knew he needed a better jump, and he flew it

. By jump 3, i had to over take rider infront as we were either going to jump ontop of her, or run out!!! So screamed at her OVERTAKING ON YOUR LEFT!!! Jumping the pen fence brilliant 12 legs in pen

God it was over too quick, after sorting out horses popped down to results - OOOOPHS we were second fastest round course and BUT it was done on bogey time, which is optituim time, BUT they don't tell time before class. They just say good hunting pace and to be honest i go much faster hunting

. So we weren't place BUT defo found my horse other job

oooooooooooo a bit long and thanks for reading

Honest it wasn't scary at all, it was a totally laugh, I'm TOTALLY hooked
To be honest we were jumping bigger and much more horrible stuff out hunting and there you have to put up with 'tumble club' happen in front of you.

Well done you! I did the Fernie one last year & it was the highlight of my riding life so far - brilliant fun! We had the fastest time in the Novice section & went far too fast unfortunately for the bogie time - I think we were 30 seconds over it! Fernie is at Tur Langton next Sunday, why don't you have another go? Hoping to go along & watch.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO 30 sec

I would love to do more, but grooming for friend at gatcome next weekend

Planning to do some in the autumn, prob Berkeley as on my door step

They are great aren't they? Luckily we found one last week that had a class for fastest over a novice course as the optimum times are always so slow and ones with refusals usually win as they don't count those. Still it is great fun.

Brilliant aren't they
I also loved atmosphere, with all 'the dotty dears' everywhere, it was so friendly and none stuffy.
Yeah hubby said it was daft not knowing time, and if i do it again pick ones without bogey times. As we should have bee placed cos our round was smooth BUT fast
cool.gif
The front two were racing really

Apparently it's the new 'in vogue' thing to do as my mother's sunday paper said!!, rubbish it's been going for years
grin.gif

Yay!!! Fabby report, though pmsl slightly at going too fast! Will deffo have to come along for the next one but sadly my prediction was right re my head yesterday morning

LOL - i did think you might have sore head but with the 6.15am wake up call could have come straight from drinking session - Bert will defo clear anybodies hangover

Mmmm, yes, not sure even Bert could have cured the effects of 2 bottles of wine and 1/2 a bottle of Baileys. Did manage to drag myself out for some fresh air in the afternoon though and lunged madam (not sure who had the bigger shock to the system, her or me!). Does your friend
wink.gif
want a photographer/horse polo feeder/general dogsbody next weekend??

OOOOOOOO yes, you haven't met Bert on mission yet
