My daughter has been interested in hunting for some time now (8 yrs old).
On Monday we wnt to the meet- on foot and followed them down through some fields to a bit of forestry where everyone stood around for a while. After a few minutes it became apparent we were being whispered about- I guess a new face?
However the joint master came over to sound us out and once realized we were not there to cause problems but were genuinly interested she was so lovely.
She took time to explain everything to my daughter and pointed out the various people and their jobs (whipper in etc)
They were so friendly and i was really impressed!
And i used to be a towny!! My sister would be horrified ;)

It is lovely to see that hunts are managing to be welcoming to newcomers, especially for a hunt such as the Heythrop who have had more than their share of attention from the antis.

Glad you enjoyed your morning, hope you will be able to get out again.
