I know there was a post about this the other day, so sorry for another one.

My super amazing mum and dad are going to give me their wagon and dad is going to pay for me to do my HGV training/test!!!! Whoop Whoop!!! Anyway I've been in touch with a driving school and am planning on doing a 5 day course with the test at the end.

For those who have done it - is it hard?? I'm not sure I'm very good at driving a car TBH although I'm fairly confident. Do many people fail?? What about the theory? Is that hard?

Thanks for any info anyone can give me... Can't wait!!!

I did mine I wont say its easy but I passed first time, God knows how but I did and not many people pass first time.
You dont need 5 days, go to where I went they are brilliant and at the time were the cheapest. I had 2.5 days training (2 full days driving 1 morning and test in afternoon) I initially went for an assessment, as I had been driving 7.5 ton since 18. They said I didnt use my mirrors enough and needed brushing up on quite a few things, and allocated 2.5 days. But thats the maximum they give, even people that have never been behind wheel of a lorry.
My instructor was very nice had endless patience, the 3 days I was there was scortching weather (like today) and in my test I sweated like hell with nerves it was running down my back!!
When I got back to test station examiner said I had passed but was a bit of a misery, my instructor hugged me and I started crying I was so over come that I did it.
I did it at Stockport LGV they even organised B&B for me in the town cos I live too far away.
Before you book lessons you need to pass a medical and pass your theory test.

No, it's fine. I only did a day and a half with instruction after an assesment drive as if your used to driving lorries it's just a 'brush up' to get rid of your bad habits. Having said that, the bloke who was sharing the instruction with me was bloody useless so I guess it can depend on the individual! Good luck and enjoy, sure you'll be fine!
