QUICK QUICK QUICK PLEASE I NEED A FEW LITTLE TIPS!

My friend has asked me to help her get her slightly nervous 8 yr old over a few cross poles this afternoon. I am boxing my boy up and taking him to her place. My boy is EXTREMELY confident and wont let me down. I have been thinking that just following me over the jumps will be good. What if it isn't? What else could I do if it all goes wrong? Her boy hasnt jumped all winter and she wants to start off well.

I think poles on the ground first, walk and trot over them...??? Any tips, I dont wanna mess this up for her?

Flat work warm up
Work around poles on the ground
work over poles on the ground in walk and trot
raise one end of poles on the ground and repeat
if all going well raise the other end (we are talking inches here)
finish on a 12" cross pole and a positive note

If the rider of this horse is at all nervous this will not work, she has to be confident and positive for the horse and allow the horse to go forward, even if it is a bit faster than she would like
