Hello everyone!

Has anyone else had thunder and lightning today? I was a wee bit scared but I tried not to show it, I have a reputation to uphold!

I am a bit worried about Small Mum. Her nose keeps exploding. And she has been crying a lot. The other day when we were out in the field she did 12 nose explosions in a row.
She says it is caused by plants?! And that I have the same sort of thing, which is what makes me all itchy.
That is nonsense, I have never had a nose explosion, what is she on about? And I certainly don't cry all the time!

Big Mum came back from 'Grease' today but she didn't bring me anything so I am a bit annoyed. She has gone all brown.

Wee Sister is still in the house all the time. I still want to jump on top of her and I think she fancies me back but Small Mum calls her a 'wee tart' and gives me a telling off if I go too close. Isn't a tart a cake? Does that mean we should eat her?

Today was training club and we did not get off to a good start. Small Mum found my secret scratchy place on my throat when she was putting me in the car and she ran back inside and came out with green stuff and slathered it all over me.
I was not impressed. I smelled like a girl all day.

Trainer Bloke Al decided to time us at agility today. Well because stupid Small Mum spent all morning marching me up and down doing stupid heelwork, I was knackered.
I did three obstacles in 11 seconds and was feeling pleased with myself.

But then bloody Ralph did it in 8!!! And two other dogs beat me as well. Silly Small Mum, my streed cred is in tatters, all she could do was cough and mumble something about the heat getting to me. Pah!

I am going for a snooze now and am not looking forward to dinner, Small Mum is putting yucky stuff in my kibble. She says it is good for me, but it tastes waaaay too healthy.

Hope you had a better week than me

I have had a brilliant week! My Mum and Little Sister's mum have been home all week with their noses in books the whole time, so we haven't been left alone AT ALL, which is brilliant for me because I hate it when all the food people go away. I have been for nice long walks in the sunshine, and we did jumping over poles - I like to pretend I don't understand so that Mum has to do it herself to show me how, and me and Little Sister have a good laugh at her! Then I decided to play along, so I showed her how it's really done and I got lots of tummy rubs.

Then today, was the best day EVER! The food people have been in the garden all day because it's so hot and sunny and they want to be dark like me, so I have been out there with them keeping them company and even letting them play with my favourite ball-on-a-rope, then Mum went to the pet shop and bought me a MASSIVE bone! She says it came from a dinosaur! There is a picture in another thread of me enjoying it - at first I couldn't believe it was all mine and I thought I'd be told off for eating it, but once Mum told me it was for me I was off and I haven't stopped crunching since.

Hey everyone

Scruffy here!

I have had a fun week, I have been "pretending" to be very well behaved this week, only because they give me treats when they comb all my tugs and mats out.

I've been going for run's with my granny which is ace fun because I get to drag her all over the place, which my mum doesn't let me do, I have to walk to heel with her

Bye for now! I'm off to the beach to get covered in sand!!

YAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWN!!!

I'm really tired!! I have had a couple of really big walks with my friends across the fields - and I've been swimming. Today was soooo hot I didn't want to go out so I stayed in the house the cool - Mum went to the Hunt Kennels - not sure what that is but she said there would be loads of terrierists there so I didn't want to go 'cos they are always really growly at me. When mum came back she said we are going to have 2 hound puppies next year to puppy walk - not sure I understand that but maybe she'll forget.....

Anyway *big yawn and stretch* an early night for me I think...

hello everyone. our week has been fairly quiet and normal. Just going for walkies but had lots of swimming practice. I'll get Mum to take some piccys for you.
Yesterday was great fun. We went to a place where there were lots and lots of dogs and we got to jump loads of jumps and fetch a ball and run back to mum as fast as we can. It was hot but there were little blue things with lots of water in so we could dive in and lay in it to cool down. Then we thought the humans need a cool down so we shook all over them. ha ha ha.

That made them squeak.
Jess brought home a pretty thing Mum called a rosie or something.
We are wondering what is going on though as Mum and dad keep talking about a new dog arriving. We're really not sure about this. apparently it is a "BOY" and he is called Zac.
Mum says we mustn't worry as she will still love us both just as much, but we are not sure.
Anyway, I'll tell you more after Friday when he comes.
Any of you got any suggestions as to how we must behave?

When Big Mum and Scary Man brought Little Sister home, I was really happy to have someone to play with! At first I was a bit freaked out because she didn't look like a proper dog - she was all tiny and white and squeaky, I thought she was a mouse - but once I realised she was a dog, we had great fun together. Whenever you meet a dog who's smaller than you, a good way to introduce yourself is to go over and tread on him. Not so hard that it hurts, just prod him a bit with your paws so he knows you want to play! He might pretend to be frightened, but if you keep doing it he will soon give in (or your mum will pull you away and shout at you while mumbling "sorry... she's only trying to be friendly... I hope your little dog stops cowering and shaking soon...").

Leah's advice is textbook for meeting your new housemate and just what I would have said.
But also, before you dump the other dog on the ground, make a suitable noise - I have a wide variety of sounds ranging from 'friendly yodel' to 'fearsome beast from the abyss'.

Once you have established that you are without doubt the most powerful, important and attractive dog in the household through the medium of voice, feel free to commence the ruff n' tumble.

Oh, but if Zac is in fact bigger than you, I wouldn't bother dumping him or making funny noises - not worth losing your good looks and reputation over!

Eek - here comes Small Mum, gotta run!

You guys have got the picture, however you have got to remember to jump on their heads and bite their ears, this is vital pooch etiquette
laugh.gif

Now come on guys. The only way to introduce yourself is to charge flat out, flying kick your new friend in the head then run round and round and round them until they either give up and play with you or try to kill you. This way you will know exactly what you are dealing with. You just have to put up with the human going red and saying things like 'sorry, he's a rescue, not sure how well socialised he was...'
mad.gif
but the best thing to do is to totally ignore this and anything else the human might say at this point as she is only making pathetic excuses!

Unless he looks big and scary in which case you should lie down like a rug until he comes and sniffs you, when you should leap up yelling 'boo!', flying kick in the head etc etc

grin.gif

Just remember when mum is around to look pathetic and all put out
frown.gif
crazy.gif
- should get you extra attention!!
smile.gif
Milk that guilt - and it doesn't matter whether you like them or not don't forget!!
laugh.gif
Any snarling or general play and getting along should be done out of sight of humans for at least 48 hours....
