I know this should go into dogs but I never really go in there.
Please could I have some positive vibes for my 10yr old (ish) 3 legged, 1 eyed staffie boy Jakie?
I went to the Welsh Kennel club show at the Royal welsh show ground at Buith wells, and he found the journey quite stressful, so much so that he collapsed and went into respiratory distress on arrival. After about 2 hours I finally found a vet and got him there. He was diagnosed with a collapsed trachea (that the vet seems to think he has had since he lost his leg), damage to the membrane round the Lungs and posibly partially collapsed lungs. The vet did all he could but he said that there is nothing that can be done, just to manage the condition.
Jakie is now home, taking it very easy, seems bright enough in himself but any movement including eating brings about a really bad cough. He is a little bit off his food but managed about 1/2 a tin of nice squishy dog food this morning and tonight
here is the boy, not so incapacitated
