Has anyone had a problem with Hi-Fi Lite making their horse fizzy? I have recently swapped my mare from Alfa A Original to it as thought it would help her with losing a bit of weight (though having found a Dengie leaflet at home and having a read, Hi-Fi Good Do-er probably would have been better) She is now very forward going when being ridden, no spookier or sillier (she's quite a sensible horse) just very forward especially when schooling and I think it could be the chaff causing it. Anyone else had this?

With all the horses I have owned, I have never heard of Hi Fi Lite making them fizzy! I have experienced a lot of horses very recently getting fizzy because of this years spring grass, it seems very pokey at present :)!!

Shes been fine with the spring grass, it hasn't really affected her. It's only since I've changed the chaff that shes got like it.

I can't speak for the rest of the uk but the spring grass has only become potent down here in the last few weeks, that may be why you are not attributing this to grass, you may be correct in assuming its the hi fi lite but I have never heard of or witnessed this in a horse, in actual fact I make the leap from lite to alfa oil when I need more oomph! I fail to see that hf is the cause, much more likely it is the grass with the recent good weather boosting the sugars x

Other horses at the yard have been affected by the grass, she hasn't changed until I changed the chaff which is why I think it's the problem.

Unless you are feeding a lot ( I mean scoops and scoops not just a handful) it probably isn't affecting your horses behaviour. As others have said it is probably due to spring grass. There are a lot of factors that can change horses behaviour. my boy is very excitable at present and he is just getting 500g if Lite Balancer, it's the grass that's sending him loopy

I think it's probably the grass. Hifi lite has nothing in it! Its just dry bits of straw and hay with the odd strand of alfa, I can't imagine it would ever make a horse fizzy?!
