hi fi original versus lite

i usually feed my boy the original. went to the shop today to stock up in case we get snow and all she had was the hi fi lite. so i had to get two bags of that. sounds like everyone is stocking up at the mo!

anyway, will it make much difference to my pony? he gets one scoop of hi fi and two scoops during winter. should i give him more of the lite or the same and see how he goes? hopefully in a few weeks i'll go back and get a couple bags of the original and mix it in together.

The Hifi lite is the same as the normal hifi except it is lower in sugar, so very slightly less calories (energy)

I doubt there would be much difference to be honest- if you notice that he's losing weight on it, you could just up the amount a bit.

As said, if it was me, I would simply see how he does on it and if you find him losing weight, then up the amount.

I had trouble getting my veteran to eat the hi fi lite. He snuffled his feed around and looked up at me, with a bemused expression, as if to say he knew what I was doing and he's not amused! The fussy so and so!

Ha ha - mine did this when I tried to put them on the HI Fi Good doer. Normally they'll eat anything (even powdered wormer in their feed won't stop them) but no way were they going to be fobbed off that.

Have to love these horses!!
