Hello! I've just moved to the south west for a new job and as I'm on my own thought I'd join the forum to talk about my favourite thing, horses! I'm a groom for a family so get lots of riding on lovely horses in gorgeous countryside :) none of my own anymore unfortunately, or fortunately, I guess it depends on how you look at it ;) hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Hi all thank you for your replies, feeling very welcomed:)

I'm in Somerset so not quite as South or west as some of you!

Yes job is amazing I'm really enjoying it so far. At the moment we have two ponies and two quarter horses but my first task was to buy more so just had one vetted and been spending all week horse shopping, with someone else's money! What more could a girl want?

I was on the Devon/Cornwall border looking at horses the other day, will definitely go back for a holiday when I get a chance, it's so beautiful and only a couple of hours drive.

If you have any must do's/see's let me know! :)

Somerset is lovely, being from the west country myself i have a bit of the accent!:D
I love quarter horses, i looked long and hard over here for one but they are very expensive in France, i do mainly trail riding so wanted a strong, agile horse..... so i got an Arab instead and he's the best :D:D
if you visit Cornwall, the Eden Project really is amazing, it's worth a visit
