Only had him few weeks first pony and had 16 yrs out of the saddle he's six and never been shod on the back before so I decided not 2 just yet, so I had him trimmed and shoes on front but I think he trimmed him 2 short as his frog sticks out took him out hacking and he didnt feel right on the back felt like he on tip toes and he didnt seem happy hes not lame but i think has frog is brused what do u think all advice greatly appriciated

Thanks

Hi and welcome to the forum, sorry if you think I'm being pedantic but it will come up sooner or later, please can you type in full English rather than text speak -i.e. "new 2 the forum" and "r real helpful" (but thanks for the compliment!). Blame it on the old folk who can't read text speak!!

As for your problem, did the farrier come recomended to you? I'm not too sure what to say, apart from ask the farrier or your vet.

Hello and welcome!

I would contact the farrier tomorrow, explain that haffy does not feel right and ask him to have a look when he is passing.

Similar happened to me with my horse and the farrier couldn't have been more helpful. Just remember not to be confrontational etc as a good farrier is hard to find.

There may have been a reason for the trimming.

If this is the first time the farrier has seen the horse as well, this may have a bearing on matters too.

Hi

Whoops sorry for the abbreviations I am using a mobile phone and they automatically come up . This is the second time the farrier has been to me he was fine the first time he said he had good hard feet and never been shod on back as no nail holes although he had a few splits this time but farrier said it was nothing to worry about.
