Your boys are gorgeous,

I have a white staffy, Jodi, she's a rescue, had her for just over a year now & she is such a little sweetie.

Had a black staffy before her, Spike, from a pup, I still miss him even after 18 months, he was such a character.

No pics as not sure how to get them on here!!

What super pictures, I used to have a part staffy a long time ago and I still miss her. Even with all my girls. She was so clever and loving and always ready for a game. Enjoy the cuddles.

My sister has a little staff, he is a lovely little lad, a propper little stout dude, built like an outhouse:D

Wow, loving all the staffie photo's! I too have a staffie, she is 6 and the sweetest, funniest dog and has so much character it is unbelievible. She is my best Pal!!!
These dog's recieve such unfair bad press at the moment, wish people would give them a break!!

Dont even get me started on the bad press side!I have since a lil tot grown up with staffies,i even had a Pitbull x staffie,he was a superb dog could not fault him and i do strictly believe that it depends on the owner!I do have a lil boy whose due to be 2 years old soon and my 2 dogs are brilliant with him and very protective around him when it comes to strangers. They have never been encouraged to play with my son but also know to be gentle and have done since day one, shows how some people can be prejudice because i was told to get rid of my dogs as they are far too dangerous to be around a child and i would never have one of your dogs i was told the other day!So my reply was "well actually Labradors have a higher percentage on reports of bite victims and also a staffy has scored higher than a labrador in a personality test,in fact they were in the top 10 for there intelligence!"So see if you can top that one!I am not prejudice against any breed of dog,but my answer is "Dont mock one until you have owned one",and yes i will argue with you about the breed if you have not owned one as i do believe that these dogs have got a bad rep and need to be spoken up for by decent owners.Told you not to get me started,he,he,sorry about a bit of a rant but it does get my back up.

I've got a staffy - hes possibly crossed with a boxer - who is the soppiest dog i've yet to meet, loves his cuddles and his licks. Big softie, and I too wish the press would give them a break!

The problem is that the staffie is an extremely popular dog, especially with owners who lets put it gently..... shouldn't even have a dog!!! With the rise in status dogs, and the tightening up on knives, dogs have become the new 'weapon' they can be owned legally and the harder it looks the better, therefore there's been a rise in staffie crosses, Irish staffies, american bull dogs, cane corso's etc etc.

The Rottweiller and dobermans used to suffer with bad press but nowadays people can own a dog that looks just as intimidating but in a smaller package and therefore better for smaller houses!!

Added to all that indescriminate breeding.

Put all that together with a package of a powerful dog that 'could' do alot more damage to a child than some other breeds, hence the attacks that have occured it's big news as the child is usually pretty badly injured.

This is why these breeds are suffering with bad press...

Please don't turn on me, I am NOT anti staffie, I love 'most' of them as much as you lot!! But have also had my fair share of dealings with ones that you wouldn't want to face! And the homes these dogs are from are always the same!!!...............

The reason for so many of them in shelters is mostly because they attract the wrong people who end up either not coping with the dog and genuinely handing it over, or usually they are failing to meet the dogs requirements and have the dog taken away from them.

I honestly do not know what the solution is, the breed is a lovely breed, friendly happy, devoted, intelligent etc etc but the people who are attracted to this dog for the wrong reasons are the people damaging it.....

oh no you shouldnt be attacked for what you said i totally agree,it is a shame for the breed to be blamed for unfair ownership and i have read recently how a few young boys were using these dogs as a weapon as there just as dangerous as a loaded gun!In all my years i have grown up with this particular breed,my dad even had a red nose pitbull who was a beautiful dog,but very sadly had too many issues as she was neglected so was put to sleep to put her out of her misery.
My dad also had a rotty who grew up with us and other children and was a fab dog!just dog aggressive at times due to being attacked as a puppy.
I just wish that sometimes certain people or wanna be bully owners had to fill out a strict form by law to see what true intentions people would have with these dogs and maybe give them a break.I know that recently a child was mauled by a staffy and a jack russel whilst the nan slept,i mean how could you ever be so stupid!!!I would never dream of that with my dogs and my tot running around,no matter how trust worthy my two are.Regardless i am a strict bully owner and love the breed and wish that there was more people like us on here who do care and want the breed to stick around, but its idiots like those who give the old bullys a bad name, and that goes for the english bull terrier too!!!Ok rant over now i could carry on all day,he,he,but i do believe that everyone is entitled to there opinions but like i have said dont mock the breed until you have owned one or two in my case.
