Hi
My name is Jacqs, I live in Devon with my 2 children. We are very lucky to own 3 lovely ponies and also loan a gorgeous gelding.
All 3 of the ponies have moorland roots somewhere along the line. My daughter has a 12yr old, 11hh Dartmoor pony, my son a lovely 7 yr old chesnut gelding and I have a beautiful 7yr old piebald mini cob with mane and feathers to die for!
My loan horse is another cob, a black gelding. I do love my cobs.
Sadly my girl is very ill and we are running out of treatment options. I have posted about her in the vet thread, sorry I posted there before introducing myself. I am desperate to save her so will do anything at the moment.
We have had our ponies since Easter last year and keep them at a lovely riding school/livery yard on the edge of Dartmoor. It is our haven, our little bubble and we adore it. The kids are keen pony club members and love hacking in the beautiful countryside. My son loves showjumping having just started on 2ft 6 fences recently (very proud mummy). My daughter is younger and gives it a go but prefers hacking and gymkhanas. She is still building her confidence but doing well.
We have been riding as a family for a year now so the kids are coming on great. I did some riding as a kid but not much as an adult. Became hooked when we took it up again. Our lives have changed a million percent for the better since we got the ponies, it has been a total lifestyle change and one we have completely embraced. I cannot remember a day without the ponies.
Sorry babbled on too much! Hope to get to know you soon x
