They are super cheap, cut back for high withers and have a self adjusting gullet, sounds perfect for my horse whilst he gains weight but I'm wondering what the catch is?

Has anyone tried them? I plan on buying a nice leather saddle for Toby once he is up to weight and fit again but in the meantime I want something cheap and fuss free. I've looked at the T4's too but they look quite bulky compared to the hi-lite saddle although if the hi lite saddles are supposed to be rubbish I will order one and get it fitted. I'm pulling my hair out trying to find a saddle and want to get on him soon.

They are rubbish. flocked with carpet fibres and made from some kind of fabric that will go threadbare after a couple of months. And they wont do your horse any favours.

Get a saddler out to see your horse and try out saddles - a lot cheaper than chiros/physios/vets in the long run.

Agree, the catch is the dismal quality. Really, don't go there.

The saddle fitter looked at him last week and told me to order a T4 as he is high withered and needs to gain weight, it should arrive tomorrow
