Hi
I never met my father Croydon horse dealer Les Churchill and when I started looking for him 2 years ago discovered I was too late, he has passed away. He did have a son Pail, my half brother who could be aged around 63 now, I am 46. Can anyone help me contact him please?

Sorry that was Paul not Pail! My mothers name is Janet and she lived with Les in 1968. Any information will be welcome, I have the best intentions and just want to meet my brother or talk to people who knew my father well. Thank you.

I do not know any dealers in that area but it might be an idea to put a new thread on the local area section of the forum so more people see it.

Thank you for the reply. My father Les Churchill died maybe 9 years ago, I do not know if his son Paul was in to the horse business but I am hoping to find someone that knows them/him to pass my message on.

Regards
Nikki

There's one Paul Churchill Rbkc (whatever that means), living in London and on Facebook. His page is virtually blank though.

Have you considered The Salvation Army? Their tracing abilities, re-uniting lost relatives, is remarkable.

I never met my father either, and it's a regret that I live with. Good Luck!

Alec.

ps. Welcome! :)

Ets. Why not Google Livery Yards Croydon. If there are any that have been in business for 20 or so years, they will almost certainly have known all the local dealers.

Thank you for your help, much appreciated!
The last time I asked the Salvation army they wouldn't help because my mum was not married to my dad, I could check if they have changed policies though.
Thank you. x

Really? I never had the Sally Army down as being Puritanical! What a shame, but ask again, and point out that it's not your fault that your parents omitted the marriage bit, and anyway, it's your brother who you're looking for.

Badger them, the way that they've badgered me since I made a donation at Christmas.

Alec.

OMG small world he used to come to Kingsmead Equestrian Center where I work as an AI,on a weekly in 1983 as they rented horses off him and I brought my beloved first mare from him. Selsdon Park also rented horses from him.

He rented them out for £ 5 per week per horse - I then took over the rent as Biscuit had moon blindness and no good for teaching on so I brought her eventually The Riding school rented horses from him for many years.

The lady who ran the stables was called Angela, she could tell you more about him though as she was there to hand monies over

I remember he was a really nice guy.
