Hi Totally newbie

I have not ever rode on a horse or been near one....but this) summer I went to the Kent County Show were they had, horse jumping, scurry racing and other horse events. I have also been watching the TV show Heartland (Don't know if anyone has seen it, but it's about a horse ranch in Canada and they have a lot of rodeo stuff in it). Between going to the county show and watching the tv show I really want to see more horse events and while I do not have the time to ride I would love to be able to go watch more events (seeing scurry racing was incredible). I don't even know how horse shows are arranged, is there a national league for different events. I have heard of the horse of the year show but that is all the knowledge I have at the moment so any help is much appreciated!

Welcome to the forum .
there are lots of different Associations for all the equestrian disciplines, so if you are interested in anything in particular I would search for shows on the Internet. If you are near a tack shop or a feed store, they usually have some free magazines like NagMag or Pegasus that will list the shows for that month.
