Hi,

I have ordered from a company and concerned it won't arrive. Can I have recommendations for the following items please?

Camera for riding
Hi viz quarter sheet
Something so front of horse is visible.

Horse in question is 14.2hh wearing 6' rugs.

Thanks.

For front of horse I'd get
1) those little tubes that fit around the cheek prices etc on bridle (if you're not too fanatical about tack cleaning after every hack you can leave them on which makes things easy)
2) boots because drivers look at the road when driving - low eyeline!

You can get light up breastplates which are good. I have a small white cycle lights on the outside of my bridle as well and several red ones on the back of my exercise sheet as well as a light up tail guard.
Reflective (must be reflective not just hi vis) boots or leg wraps are great.
V bandz do good quarter sheets I'm told, I have a wrap round one which works just as well.

Hi vis is a bit of an obsession for me and I have a large collection! I favour a breastplate and fly veil for the front, hat band, vest or jacket, bands on my boots and gloves for me and a tail wrap for behind. I recently saw someone on hi vis bell boots and am thinking of getting some of those too. My husband says you can see me from the moon!

I like the two colour neck band from V bandz, lovely and bright.

I had a lorry driver stop me and say how easily he had seen me on a winding country road because I had a hi viz hat silk on and he could see me over the hedge, so one of those might be a good idea.

I have lots of leg bands, for the reason given by ThursdayNext above. They do get muddy in winter though so buy plenty of sets so you always have a clean set while others are being washed.

Have you seen the Parsons Rump? It is similar to a quarter sheet but if you have a hot horse it won't overheat them.

I ride with a camera, sadly I lost mine earlier this year and I've not been able to find one as good. I'm currently using the bullet one from Cam Equestrian, it is ok but not as good as the one I lost (in terms of video quality). The quality is good enough to read a numberplate and the battery life is about 2 hours 20 mins. It was a lot cheaper than the one I lost though.

My standard kit is two-tone hat band and neck strap (V bandz) and a tail guard with reflective stripes, plus hi viz on torso (depends on weather, jacket or bib). I have a Parsons rump, but don't use it as often as the tail guard as it takes longer to tack up with it, and I'm always pressed for time in winter. I think a quarter sheet would be more visible, but if you want a rump, I'd go for the one that has reflective tape all over, not just at the tail. I've been thinking of upgrading mine to make it more visible. Mine is a hairy pony, and I'm not keen on putting a sheet on him for temperature reasons.

Out of all my hi viz kit, I have to say the two-tone hat band and necklace stand out by far the most.

I also have a GoPro camera, but I only use it on special rides for fun, not as a security device everyday. It's very good, but you could probably find something lighter/cheaper if all you want is to catch license plates.

I'm mostly kitted out with Vbandz products. Great quality, but as is clear from various recent threads, rather slow on delivery.
Either yellow or yellow/orange:-
Hat band.
Mesh quarter sheet.
Necklace
Leg bands

Plus generic hiviz top from Aldi or similar.

2) boots because drivers look at the road when driving - low eyeline!
I was complimented on my horse's two tone leg bands by a milk lorry driver, he stopped and said how visible and notice grabbing they were :).

I wear a long sleeved Hi-Viz jacket so that other road users can clearly see my hand signals.
A Hi-Viz hat band.
A Hi-Viz Nose Band
Hi-Viz rein covers (Double Sided in case they twist)
...also do the BHS Road Safety Course.

I got my Hi Vis from equisafety - I have hi vis ears and a quarter sheet as well as leg wraps and overreach boots that I bought from somewhere else. I also have a hat band and tabbard for me. We are very visible and get lots of compliments on the way! :)

I have to say equisafety were very good, they called me to update me on my order and had very good customer service!

Thank you everyone.

My delivery arrived today (although missing one item as they've not been delivered to them and will be posted in due course). There was no mention of this in an email or any reply to facebook messages.

It's such a shame as I've seen everywhere are the quality of their items are excellent but customer service seems non-existent other than a free gift.

I'm not sure if they sent stuff out and it got lost so they sent another one or they sent me an email (on 24/09/16) to say it was sent but then wasn't as today's package is stamped 4/10/16.

I will look at all the items mentioned (I have reflective leg wraps but don't use them - will start now) and the hat cover is a great idea.

Riding hat cover is great, also look at Hozhatz for the horse - better than a flyveil as they don't cover ears so less annoying for them, and come in several colours so pick one that stands out on your horse.
