Hello,
Does anyone know what channels cover Hickstead this year? Apart from the ones like SkySports4 hd or whatever. I'm on virginmedia, so does anyone know any channels that cover it?
Thank you :)

damn, i'm home all day so was looking forward to watching it from 3. i might ring virgin and ask if i can buy just that one channel for a couple of days. we've done it before with a boxing channel, so hopefully we'll be able to do it with this too. fingers x'd

I asked my oh if could do that with sky, and he was like nope its a months subscription or nothing (and theres enough footie on the t atm as it is without him haing a whole sky sports package:D) Would be interested to know if virgin do that though, sky are pretty rubbish at times and that may tempt me enough to consider switching.

well, we've done it with one channel before, but i think it was for 1 month, but it was some world cup or whatever in boxing and dad was desperate to watch it  i think it was £7 for that month and it would carry on unless we call and stop it. I'll ring up and ask them if its possible with sky channels thou. and will let you know :)
i just went on hickstead and it says that FEITV covers it as well? its the internet one. do you know anything about it?

Oh ok, i think its about an extra £20 for us to upgrade to a skysports package, which is too much just for one thing and then never to be able to watch another non-footie programme on tv ever again:D If its only £7 though may consider it and not just mention it to oh, lol, so yeah that would be great if you can let me know if you find anything out.
Fei tv you have to pay for again and its not that cheap either from what i remember, certainly no cheaper than £7 and also youve got to watch it through the internet. Which if like us you have a limited download limit, and slow internet speed anyway is far from ideal!

well i'll speak to them how much they'll want for just 1 channel for 1 month and check what the rate at FEITV is, compare which is cheaper and go with that one :) i'm desperate to watch it cuz i've never seen it before! :)

I have FEI TV, havent seen Hickstead on there.
its Rotterdam nations Cup if I remember rightly
There is a live results service on the Hickstead website, better than nothing.
Oh, and Ascot on the BBC !!

oh thats strange cuz when i typed 'hickstead 2012 tv coverage' into google, it came up with the main hickstead site and said its on sky sports 4 and feitv only.
I rang virgin, the man was very nice and was as pissed off as me that sky has bought the coverage rights thingies, sky is being horrible and said to virgin 'you cansell sky sports 1 or sky sports 2 by itself BUT if someone wants to get sky sports 3 or 4 or F1, they have to buy the whole package for a month :( so looks like i'm not gonna see hickstead again :(

That sounds about right tbh, thanks for ringing to find out though. Am still mightily peeved that the beeb sold it out in the first place, like theyve done with hoys and goodness knows how many other huge horse events in the calender. They really dont like to make it easy for us do they :(
