Anyone else had a problem with hi fi lite? My horse has been eating it fine then suddenly won't touch this bag of it. Tried all my usual tricks of grated carrots, mint, peppermint tea etc with no success?! His teeth are fine and he is grazing, eating hay normally!
 
Actually - yes. the last bag is quite odd. The horses eat it fine - but the texture is really different and it all sort of sticks together. Almost as if it were molassed - but it tastes the same to me. (I tried it as I have a lami prone and wondered if some standard HiFi had got into a lite bag by mistake - I do not make a habit of tasting my horse's feeds!)

I wouldn't have bothered overmuch - but I wonder now if it is worth calling the manufacturer and see if there has been a change. If you find out do post!

Hi Fi Lite is molassed, it's only Hi Fi Molasses Free that isn't.

I've used Hi Fi Lite in the past and sometimes it was what I can only describe as weird, so yes.
 
Was going to say the same. Hi fi lite is mollassed. Which in my opinion makes it sort of not lite. I use sugar free Ossi chaff. My ponies love it.
 
used to be a big fan of hi-fi lite but kept getting the odd bag of really bad quality, i.e. it smelt dusty and would stick to my hands, even sent a sample back to dengi once who said it was the wrong mix but was ok to feed, i didnt agree with them as thought it was a rubbish mix which shouldnt have passed their quality checks, have since changed Em onto a different brand
