High grakle-fitting help please

Can someone give me some advice on this? How tight and where should you sit the upper fastening of the grakle? I'm having real problems with a grakle I bought for my Elevator!

I use a high ring grackle. I must admit I had to have it adjusted as the headpiece was too long. Anyway, I fit it so that the ring is midway between the bottom of the cheekbone and the eye. I do the top strap up first and then move the crossover to the middle of the nose. I then do up the bottom. Tightness wise I have it so that I can slide a finger easily in all the way round.
