My cob went for his lameness work up today and although thankfully any ligament damage was ruled out, our vet pin pointed the lameness to his pastern. He will be having x rays next week to determine the severity of the arthritic changes.

His prognosis was guarded, and although with management and joint injections feels he can get him more comfortable, was more dubious that my cob would ever be able to resume his normal activities (fun rides/jumping/trail hunting etc)

Any experiences of the above, good or bad please......

ps sorry for the typo in the title!

Hi.
yes one of my horses had this in his near hind.
He had steroids and then Arthrimed- steroids worked for a few weeks but that was all. The ringbone was very visible on him so presumably his was very severe.

Sadly he deteriorated very quickly and for a lovely horse suddenly was reluctant to move very much so I had to call it a day with him.

sorry its not a better story.

Mine had it in his fetlock. Severe case of arthritis. We tried steroids with minimal success and then Arthramid was brought up as the next thing to try, but since he was 20 and not even nerve blockades would completely take away the lameness we decided to PTS ? This was in february and I still miss him, best horse I've ever had.
