Anyone going to watch or compete in the event at Highclere this weekend?

The Int class entries are missing quite a few names with the WEG on in Aachen this week.

Matt Ryan and Pippa F. have got a few entries there though.

we may be going and just do the dressage as the horse is coming back into work after feet problems but not sure whats going on. we will decide on saturday as whenever we decide we won't get any money back. its not too far from us so semi justifies going just for dressage! if we go its the PN

Supposed to be working the Monday and competing Sunday but hopefully will make it at some point, somehow....
DD-Highclere is lovely, never been a lucky event for me but still like it!

Cath was a bit worried as in the BE mag it says maximum height, distance and loads of hills. How does it compare to Longleat? Any funny fences?

Yep it's hilly and yes it's an imposing course but seriously, it rides fab- I love riding it as you can really get your teeth into it.
Fence 3 normally catches a few out- downhill palisade to a skinny on a bit of a turn. Big drop 1/2 way round but thats fine. Theres 2 big steps down to a 1 stride to a skinny carrot box which is tricky as if they've scared themselves off the drop, theyre not always willing to drop down. Normally a double of corners on a turn and a doubl;e of very skinny pimples. Theres an angled brush double too. The waters are easy though
