Took george and twig out today. Mum was on my 15.1 who i used to event and I was on twig 16.1 4yo who will hopefully follw in his footsteps one day. Went through the local woods and was on twig in front as she is quite brave for a youngster and im trying to nuture this! George was getting pretty pee'd off at having to go behind (we were only walking) so decided to have a paddy/napping fit (ive owned him for 8 years since a 4yo and hes always been a nappy little s***) he went bolt upright, mum ended up sliding off the back of the saddle ending up on his bum and as he came down he bucked and she promptly ended up back in the saddle narrowly missing coming off him! I absolutely nearly wet myself as he hasnt yet done it with her before but believe me he can bronc like stink when he wants too and mum is always the one shouting 'give him a boot!' - she now realises its not nearly so easy when your on the blasted thing when he kicks off! Hats off to mum though for staying on and hats off to twig who had to give him a lead past scary things all the way home agter he had got his knickers in a twist - so much for him being our hacking nanny!
