Anyone got one and how do they find them?

For a horse with a huge tongue and low palate?

And are they severe? And poll pressure?

I just saw this while looking for something else!

I use one of these and really rate it. Mine has a big tongue and low palate. He was really unhappy in anything jointed, poking his tongue over it all the time. He can get very strong but I've never actually tried any of the lower rein options. I just use the top rein loop and put a grackle on for anything 'exciting' and this works well. The small amount slide up and down seems to be appreciated. I know you can use a curb strap with it as well.

I wouldn't say it's severe at all. The way I use it it's basically like a hanging cheek snaffle. However, if you used the bottom ring I think it could be severe.

They aren't easy to get hold of though. Risley saddlery have them. I was very lucky and got mine brand new on ebay!! I do use bit gaurds with it but only because mine also has very sensitive lips. He used to split his mouth in every other bit I tried - not this one though.
