Hind gut issues

hi everyone has anyone experienced a horse with hind gut problems reluctant to have back legs lifted to clean hoofs out ? this is something we are experiencing with ours he recovered from ulcers beginning of the year all symptoms and behaviour problems disapeared except the lifting of back left leg occasionally he is working well no sign of lameness or anything can be a bit lazy at home but when out he has good energy he has won the phew dressage comps we have done this year but just having this problem with him not willing to pick up leg and he does kick out , he is currently on succeed but we are also going to try equishure , any advice welcome :)

Yes, it can be a sign - however it can also be a sign for many other ailments as well.

All I would say to bare in mind that in the vast majority of cases, ulcers are a result of pain. So unless this has been tackled at the same time, the ulcers will keep returning.

I have found Egusin to be really effective for ulcers, and in fact someone I know had their horse scoped before and after the use of Egusin and it had healed the horses low grade ulcers.

Are there any other symptoms? Hard muscles? It is usually the right hind leg that shows up for ulcers?

we are sure he had the stomach ulcers from a long course of antibiotics he had for a chest infection a phew months prior to the ulcers being diagnosed previous to the antibiotics he should no signs if any discomfort at all we treated with omeprazole but ones ulcers were clear he was left with a hing gut issue so we put him on succeed but he just still has this problem lifting back left leg to pick out feet , what other problems do you think it could be ? if it doesnt omprove soon although under saddle he works fab and we have checked saddle had a osteopath who say everything looks good , i think next step is a work up at vets as he is trying to tell us something :(
