Hi,
My mare is lame on her right hind leg on a tight circle on hard ground. It seems to be coming from high up.
Her back is tensing without a saddle on in trot and her ears are back.
She was lame on the straight on her right hind on Friday. She has been on box rest since, only being lead out in-hand am and pm and has improved massively and is now only lame on a tight circle on the right rein on hard ground.
I am getting her saddle checked this week. Due to pregancy I wasn't riding last year so didn't get her saddle checked then. It was brough brand new August 2009 and hasn't been looked at since.. Bad owner I know!
She has been refusing jumps which is very unlike her. Could the saddle be causing her the lameness and reluctancy to jump?
There is no heat on any legs, no bumps or cuts.
While I am waiting for the equine massage practicioner and the back man to come out what is best...... Leave out to walk it off or carry on with box rest???
