my pony is lame on his near hind. he has been worked quite hard recently and recently i have had to encourage him forward quite alot, which i thaught was because he was bored of schooling. he didnt appear lame then, but i wasnt convinced he was 'right' and everyone kept telling me i was being paranoid. anyway...today he seemed ok in walk and trot in the school and canter on the right lead but when i cantered on the left lead he felt wonky. so took him out the school trotted him up on concrete, nothing really obvious apart from slight hip swaying, so got on him to see what he felt like from on top and seemed ok'ish in walk and horrible in trot, a real obvious dip on the hind leg. no lumps bumps or heat though? so....have put him out in the field and will leave him out there for a few days to see if he improves. thaught about stable resting but its so dusty it makes him cough plus i didnt want him seizing up. any ideas on what it could be and how long would you leave it to try him again??????
