Hipflasks and girths!

as above really, firstly having a problem with my stainless steel hipflask every time i try to use it and fill it up the liquid inside tastes very metallic and awful, have tried cleaning it out and tried several methods but nothing helps has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you get round it?

secondly my horse has got girth galls after hunting saturday i was on him approx 10.30-3.30 ish two painless lumps have appeared and dont seem to want to go down due to be hunting saturday any ideas? have put arnica cooling gel and ice tight to try and reduce swelling

Depends on what liquid you put in flask...mine was new this year and just boiled water in it....as for girth doidahs...are tgey too of te front kegs...the armpit area...if so mine got tgese n use a humane spongier girth

Hipflask - A strong spirit does not seem to taint as much Brandy, Whisky....

Girth Galls - A Fairfax fixed that on my horse.

red-1 had port in it dont drink the others. Did try percy special half and half brandy and port but still affected

am i right in guessing now he has had girth galls once he will again? will look up fairfax thank you

Wash his girth area thoroughly before and after hunting, and use a dettol, savlon or liniment solution on the area to make sure it's clean. Ron gets something similar but it's sweat and mud that causes his lumps, which are then rubbed by the girth.

We also use a w shaped girth to help avoid the area a bit, but keeping the area (and the girth) spotless made more difference than anything else.

Percy special is half whiskey ( grouse ) half cherry brandy ( the cherry heering brand only ) .
