where are you? have you worked out who your local pack is yet, once you have then speak to their secretary to find out which days are good ones for visitors and newcomers, and also ask who they recommend for hirelings for their pack.

If in doubt, ask on here, there's usually someone knows!

ok... no problem... copy and paste the link below into a new page, and work out who is nearest to you!

http://www.mfha.org.uk/directory/essex/

make contact with a couple of hunts, explain that you are new to hunting, and that you'd really like to give it a go, but would be looking for hirelings etc etc....

If people seem offhand, please don't be put off, hunts can be a bit cautious due to the number of Antis around and about!

Whereabouts are you in Essex? I'm secretary of the Essex Farmers and Union, wo cover from Maldon/Chelmsford to the sea- one of our Masters does hirelings.

If you're further up (ie towards Colchester) then you would probably be East Essex, one of our subbers has some lovely hirelings she takes over there. If you're west of Chelmo, then you would be Essex, I'm not sure if they have any hirelings but can easliy find out. Proper north Essex/Suffolk borders would be E&S, then you need to contact their secretary...I can give you her name if you're up that way...

Hope that helps....

Sarah.
