Dominobrown, hirelings are only viable if they have another job they can do also. Ours are real all rounders, some have sharers on non hunt days, other have owners and are on a hunting livery (reduced rates if we can hunt them once a week), others work in the riding school when not hunting and a few work as hirelings while waiting to be sold. You also need a massive lorry, and the staff to get 10+ horses ready on a hunting morning!

I was reading an old book about an hireling yard (forgot the name of it) and I was wishing I could of had a yard like that. Probably not now
