Im hiring a 3.5t lorry next month, I'm only moving a small pony so weight wise I will be fine, but regarding questions I should be asking is there anything else I can ask?

So far Ive asked....

Price, max. mileage, parking of my car, break down cover.

Where do I stand on insurance? Will the company have insurance to cover me or is it like a hire car, I need to talk to my insurers to get me covered over the period?

(Sorry not good on insurance in's and out's!!)

Thanks :)

Cost & any penalty for late return?
Mileage/full tank - do you get charged extra if tank is not full on return?
Cleaning out - do you have to send it back in the same condition as you collected it in? eg, does it need hosing out?
Insurance - you most definately should be covered on their 'fleet' insurance - also check what the accidental damage penalty is (if you biff a mirror, cut a corner & dent bodywork etc)
Do not hire if you have to involve your own insurance company - as this is a hire vehicle
Make sure you carefully look round it with the rental place staff & sort paperwork before driving off!
As said above: location of spare wheel & tools to change wheel if required.
Breakdown cover - who is it with?

Hope the trip goes ok :)
