I have a few questions if anyone would be so kind as to help me.

Im looking to take my horse to a few clinics and competitions. All local about 20miles away tops. I would need to hire someone who could take me as I have no transport or appropriate license.

What insurance do they need to have? (I dont just want to say have you got insurance I would like to know specific types e.g liability etc)

Do they need to have any qualifications? Im sure there is something to do with animal transporting?

How much would you expect to pay for say a 10 mile journey, 2 hours at venue and then 10 miles back??

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

You are looking for someone who has their operators licence Blue or Green disc if transporter has 7.5t lorry, lorry should have metal plate inside stating it is DEFRA approved for transporting, the operator should also have a DEFRA licence and ACET qualification.

Insurances-should have hire and reward, public liability and CCC

For show transport you are looking around £100 for a couple of hours

You can find transporters on www.findhorsetransport.org
