I've been thinking about it for a while now, I'm looking at the website called myrentalhorsebox.com and wondered if anyone else has used it as seems like a really good idea, however not sure anyone would want to rent the box (it is completely roadworthy and horsesafe as I wouldn't let my boy travel in it otherwise) it is an old box - D reg 3.5 tonne lt 35 really good horse space but because of age perhaps not the prettiest box
On the flip side i guess my concern would be interior damage and people returning it empty :S
Anyone currently using the scheme successfully?
 
I have never used it to rent my box out as I don't have one but have used it twice to rent a 3.5t lorry from someone, find it a good website, its just a shame theres only 2 lorries that are small enough for me to drive within a 60 mile radius of edinburgh and they charge extortionate prices for 1 day, even when you only want it for 3/4 hours
 
I've been thinking of doing the same with mine, so will be interested in any replies. There are no rental companies near me, so it would probably do quite well, but I do worry about other people damaging it.
 
I would rent it. I wouldn't worry about an old box as long as it was roadworthy. So many 3.5t hires are expensive

If I had a box my worry would be that they could overload it and be pulled over and weighed - not sure who would be responsible if that happened

Also you'd have to make yourself available for collection and drop off times plus check it over etc

Also the days most people would want it you may well find you want it too!
 
Good point welsh d I think if they got pulled over it would be the drivers responsibility
Hmm I might give it a go I tend to use mine once a week during the week and once at the weekend some weekends not at all
I'm lucky my yards 5 mins from home and I'm there twice a day
I'm just curious to hear other people's experience
 
I tried unsuccessfully three times to rent a box via this company and was let down everytime as people hadn't kept their calendars up to date. Neil who runs it was very apologetic but it still left me with no box.
