His beautiful mane is gone :(

In one day Blue has lost almost all his mane

When I say lost I mean that Tara has chewed it off, or that is what I presume has happened. He has a few tufty bits at the bottom and a 6 inch strip of thinned out mane at the top.

So, do I chop the whole lot off and start again or leave him looking a complete pillock?

How can I stop Tara chewing it? Bear in mind Blue's mane is almost white so I don't want to stick curry powder on it and make it go yellow!

Tips greatly appreciated!

ETA, he is a Fell so flowing locks are a must!

If he really hasn't got that much mane left I would be tempted to use the curry to stop the culprit chomping any more

There is a product called Yum Yum you could try. Someone on our yard swears by it but I have never tried it myself. Also I am not sure what colour it is but think it was a clear liquid.

Or spray fly spray on it - the lemon one as it tastes bitter

I have a naf no bite spray that is clear in colour and smells awful so can only imagine it tastes it too

i can second the naf no bite it tastes horrible i put it on my rugs in the wind and it came back to hit me takes days to get the taste out lol

Thanks everyone, will try some of the suggestions, although at the moment there is no mane left to chew at the bottom two thirds, Tara has done a top job of hogging him!

Be careful of hoods, my DalesXcoloured has had her mane rubbed out by them.....
