Wierd today, friend who is schooling him rode my youngster and I rode nanny horse. It was youngsters first outing on the road but he has seen plenty of cars one way or another. First car fine, second car was creeping past us very slowly, I was infront and slightly nearer the car than he was (on a normally very quiet lane). He suddenly lost his bottle, spun and smacked his bum into the wing mirror, breaking if off I think and denting the wing. He then fell over on the road, luckily with his feet under him and got up OK. Friend hopped off and walked him a little way, I went to and spoke to driver. (Who was very calm, actually!). Immediately 4 other cars turned up so I gave my mobile number, told the man which yard we were from and left him. He was quite happy with that, confirmed my number and name and said he would call.
Well, the odd thing is he hasn't!?
We have reported it to the police and the insurance company but I just think it is so odd that he hasn't been in touch.
Youngster is fine bar scuffed hooves and a slightly bald bit on his bum.

Glad all are relatively ok. Give him a bit of time - maybe he was in work and will phone when he gets home.
Hope the bad experience won't stay with your youngster for long.

Gosh what a scary thing to happen. Glad you and horses are all ok.

I had a car crash into my field two weeks ago police attended took numbers etc but took a week for lady to get in touch. I put it down to the shock and her getting quotes etc. All has been fine since.

He may just be sorting out cost etc before he contacts you so he has all the details he needs. :)

Yes you are probably right but I want to move on and want to get it sorted NOW! I will stop stressing.
Youngster met a few more cars and they all stopped completely and we got past them all one way or another. I am both a total cob and coloured snob but was riding a coloured Irish cob who was a complete saint, I may have been converted!

i to have over the last few years become a coloured and cob fan :) we nearly got hit by a car 3 years ago it came round a corner to fast, lost control, hit some railings about a metre in front of us flew through the air before landing on its side and sliding up the road in towards us!! my cob stood solid and never flinched, mates tb x legged it and the welshy with us literally wet herself as she bolted home. it was very scary! but proved how solid cobs can be, mine was only 3 at the time 4th time out on roads didnt bat an eye and hacekd out next day like nothing had happened!! from that day a having always had tb types i became a firm cob lover and have had 3 more since who have all been fab, one coloured welsh x clyde and now another clyde who is partly coloured lol :)

hope your youngster isnt to upset by what happened xx
