Hi I am new to this forum, and am hoping for some advice please. My dog is covered in hives, over her face and undercarriage. I can only think it is fertilizer that was being spread on Friday afternoon when we went for a walk. The hives appeared yesterday afternoon, so a little shy of 24hours after the walk. Can anyone recommend a remedy?
 
I would speak to your vet over the phone atleast (they will give you advice) it does sound like a reaction/allergy? not a bull breed is she?:p
usally cold showers to help with the heat that comes with hives and cools the itchy irritation and piriton but you will need a dosage from the vet and indeed they may have their own advice/remedy or may want to see her if a time period passes and the hives have not settled.
Is she ok in herself, eating drinking ok, not huge swellings?

She is a Staffy x, I have only had her for six weeks, and she came from battersea, so know very little about her. She is not herself, very quiet. She has been sick but to add insult to injury I started her on the RAW diet this morning, with chicken necks. So am not sure if the two are related. I have just cooked some chicken and rice for her supper tonight, then I will try the chicken neck again for breakfast tomorrow. :(
 
It is perfectly safe to give her piriton,and four in one go would probably do the job,it is the same as the anti histamine shot your vet will give at consult.She may be a little drowsy,though it has never made my bullies so! Repeat over the next day or two if needed.:)
 
Hi, yes it is an anti histemine, and it doesn't say on the package about paracetamol or ibprohen. So I shall try it. Thanks again for your help. :o
 
My terrier has had a reaction to bites/stings twice now and my vet gave me a bottle of Piriton tablets to give her if it happens again ( not the whole bottle at once :P)

Thanks for that, I gave her some anti histemine last night, and she work up with no lumps this morning.
