I was thinking about entering my horse for cumberland show ridden hunters and working hunters.
He won a lot in hand in hunter breeding and has afew championships, and I have done a bit under saddle on him. We nearly always got pulled in 1st then the judge would ride him... one judge did say "how the hell do you ride that?!?"
So anywho, he had a kissing spine operation and now is a different horse under saddle and is actually quite pleasant to ride, but now he has jeffing grat scar. It runs directly a long his spine- the hair has grown back, but if you look from above you will see there is a bit missing! bit weird- I should take a photo.
It lies directly under the saddle, but I am worried when stripped the judge will ahve the screaming hibijibis, not matter about the rest of his conformation or is ride. The only thing is standing from the ground I can't see it (he is 16.3hh to 17hh) but if I have a tall judge...
Should I have a go anyways? I think at the Cumberland they prob will strip. Will it affect working hunters do you think?
I have included a pic of his first time out since op so you can get an idea (please note the jumps are tiny- he jumped double clear but I couldnt get near a pole when I warmed up so I didnt think he would jump at all, also his legs have been ridiculously hairy this winter so ignore the fluff)
