Ever since " Someone " came to my yard ive been having problems ..

Things going missing, tools ect not where i left them. This doesnt bother me, YES its very annoying when you buy apples and then another horse gets them but its not a major issue.

But reacently whenever this person has been up ive found my horses bombing it around the field in panic everytime a leaf blows! And ive found "stones" (Lumps of concrete from the drive and stones the size of golf balls dont blow :p) in my field, and various objects like pieces of rubber. My mares got several cuts that i dont know how she got above her eyes and around her ears.

Im not jumping to conclusions but its starting to worry me!

But to find my friendly mares very reluctant to come to the gate when they normally leg it up to see me is starting to upset me! Dont want to move them as apart from this yards perfect. And this "someone" doesnt like me, with a vengance! But ive never given her a reason to .. :/

So thoughts?

Sorry, but I would leave! Catching this person at it and proving what they are doing is going to be very hard and most YOs are reluctant to get involved in politics. Your mares sound very upset and I would be reluctant to risk a serious injury. Does this person have a reputation for doing this sort of thing?

Could you set up a camera and hide it in a hedge? I know it seems a bit spyish but that way you would have actual video evidence of anybody behaving as they shouldnt. I hope it all works itself out, could you talk to the yard owner or manager?

Grrrr, i had a simalar problem last year, cut a long story short, i used to go out with the boy next door, his new gf didnt like me the ex thing! so my horses backed on to there home and here little brother visited daily and was throwing/catapulting loads of eggs (they have couple of hundred various poultry) at my horse! hes a bit shy at the best of times and it went to the extreme of not being able to catch him as he was so frantic at the sigh of anyone! It was awfull and made my cry there was nothing i could do about it!!! i did collect half a bucket full of shells and stormed next door raging!!!! they stopped eventualy and they split up a while ago thank god! that brat wont be back this summer!!!!
My advice stay calm, and do some detctive work ;) then if it is her doing something be sure to go strait to the YO/M and get it sorted asap, for the sake of your horse and sanity ;)

Unfortunatly this "someone" Isnt a livery, and there are several easy ways to get onto the yard (on foot) and no way even if they where banned they would stop :(

Tbh i think they'd find out and follow if i left .. Really need to catch them in the act, will look up cheap sec cameras! :)

Sorry, I misunderstood, I thought they were a livery. If this person is determined to make your life hell might it be worth having a word with your community police officer? They could give advice on the best way forwards. I would certainly make an official complaint and ask them to make an appearance at the yard, take photos of the debris you have found in the field and injuries to your horses and keep a diary of all incidents. If you catch them at it then a detailed history would make your complaint more solid.

Other than that, would a quiet word backed up with menaces work or just make things worse? :) Does this person have a history of violent or aggressive behaviour?

i would talk to the YO and if nothing happens then move, even if you love the place if your mare isn't happy then i wouldn't hang around this other person seems a bit odd.. :/

can you not get some sort of evidence, to get the police involved? and yes i think cameras are a v good idea!
