Ok, so I have two nativey type horses that do need rugs in the winter otherwise they stand shivering and drop weight, however they dont really need much more than a light weight and fleese except for really cold days, but there both rubbish at keeping rugs in place if theres more than one. So, just been on premiere equine and they have a 70g and 40g Turn out... what one do you reckon would be the nearest equivalant to a fleece and lightweight?

i would say the 70g version

I would say you need a 200g.
I know this wasn't one of your options, but 70g is just a lightweight on its own. What about a MW Weatherbeeta freestyle / landa ? They are a good fit for the fuller figure!

lol a 200g is their 'Heavy' rug! They both get a really thick coat, but their kind of pitiful fluff if that makes sense... so they mainly need something to keep them dry, hense the lightweight, but then when it gets colder (mid December - end Feb) need something a bit warmer, then they have the thick rug for abnormally cold nights
