Hmm What do you think of this mare?

Looks very ordinary - but quiet also.

Awful photo. But nothing screams out that you shouldn't go and see her. Seems a reasonable price.

Sweet looking mare - but like AM says looks quiet.

Is this going to be your first horse?

Maybe a bit high on the price side considering she is only just broken - just my opinion.

Hi - no this wont be my first - brought my last horse (14.2hh) as a 3yr old, he is now 8 & out on loan as a pc schoolmaster with an 11yr old and having the time of his life. My close friend is an AI & has bred backed & competed many horses is going to keep me on the straight and narrow and help me through this decision making! Thanks for advice so far. Mare advertised comes with rugs no tack, and open to vetting & trial period.

It would be interesting to know how big her sire and dam are, the picture is poor, but at first sight I wondered if she had some more growing to do. She looks a little weedy and if her parents are big, may not be mature enough for you to get on and start bringing her into work. I wondered why they had put her away? was it for her to grow? Has she had a splint problem.

The picture is a bit crappy but I actually think she looks quite nice. Could still do with a bit of conditioning but that will come with work. Maybe a little high priced given she's green, depending on how she looks and behaves in the flesh I'd not want to spend more than £2k on her.

All the youngsters on my yard are backed and turned away. Brought back - and turned away again.

So don't think that there is anything sinsiter in that tbh.

She looks like she has alot more maturing to do. If I had her I would give her time to grow over the summer then do alot of ground work to help her build some more top line as she is really lacking.

I think in a few years she will be a nice looking mare.

Great thanks for help. Will update once viewed initially & go from there. Love her sire but can't see mum anywhere on web. Guess it'll be down to seeing her face to face. Will upload pics on viewing.

I wouldn't take too much from the photo... When I looked at Grace on the internet I don't know why I decided to go and see her. She looked very docile, quiet and out of proportion. I would definitely say go and see her, and take some photos when you do.

Good luck, not the most inspiring photo's but give the mare a year and I reckon you will have made a cracking buy. If she were slightly bigger I'd be tempted myself!

Devils Jump offspring can be a bit slow to mature, but he is a fab sire. Def worth a look, and a good price IMO. Will be nice when fills out
