Hmmm! What would anyone else do??

My horse come in from the field last night with nick just underneath the fetlock at the front, now its not very big so i just cleaned with warm salt water an put just antibacterial cream on. Today its slightly swelled (only a little bit) and a little bit warm, hes not lame.
Do you think i should get the vet? Or leave a day or two and see if it is ok? Bear in mind hes a TB so could just be acting like a wimp haha!

I would cold hose it and repeat what you have already done so far. If its no better in a day or so then call the vet. Maybe you could give them a ring anyway and ask for advice over the phone. From what you have said it doesnt sound too serious.

Small grazes I don't worry too much about - nicks and slices and holes I'd be getting some AB's.

Carry on, but ensure horse is up to date with tetanus injections, etc.

heat + swelling.. you need anti-biotics for this neddy Im afraid.
